May in Review!
Everything from May in one easy place
This May marked one full year since I posted my first talking video to social media. At the time, I didn’t expect much to come of it. But after a busy year of deadpan reactions to viral wellness trends, creating new recipes to share, and tossing out all the cottage cheese, I’ve been blown away with how many people have come along for the ride.
This May I’ve been working hard to build a vault of recipes for you, sharing a mix of some favorites and new recipes I’ve been developing. My family has also been busy preparing for our summer travels as my kids are finishing up the school year. I actually just got back from a long weekend in Brussels!
I made this month in review as a one stop repository of all the recipes I’ve shared this month, along with some of the most-loved shoppable links I’ve shared. Make sure to let me know which recipes and recipe types are your favorite!
Every month, I’ll be sending out a recap of the month before, summarizing the recipes I’ve shared and my most-loved recommendations all in one place.
I’m a Nutritionist and Master Fitness Trainer. Paid subscribers get my Nutrition Framework, a growing recipe vault, meal ideas and deeper health insights. Plus the personal stuff I don’t share anywhere else — losing 60lbs, perimenopause and HRT, beauty, and more. Upgrade to paid.

SKIN

I’ve always considered myself low maintenance when it comes to skincare and even my makeup routine, but as I get into my 40s, I’ve been layering in just a few daily additions. The Vichy Mineral 89 Booster hyaluronic acid serum is one thing I use daily without fail. I’ll put some on in the mornings then finish things off with my trusty daily tinted sunscreen and one of my favorite liquid lipsticks or a tinted collagen lip treatment.
For more intensive self care days, I’ve been pairing a resurfacing mask with a rich, healing skin balm and the only lip balm that works on my super dry snake lips.
HAIR

Going along with my minimal skin routine, hair treatments and hair styling are two routines I’ve resisted for most of my life. Thankfully, I’ve found a few products that help quite a bit. The Fable & Main Holiroots Hair Oil is what stopped my hair from shedding. I’ll put it on before I wash my hair with a super hydrating shampoo and it’s made the biggest difference. For the days when I don’t feel like washing my hair, this dry shampoo is my lifesaver.
For styling, I finally found a tool that was able to convert me from being a lifelong Dyson user. It’s so fast, it doesn’t fry my hair, and most importantly it makes styling my hair a breeze in the mornings. I’ll finish up with just a drop of Hair Elixir on the ends. And when I don’t have time for even a simplified styling routine, I’ll throw my hair up in a Big Effing Clip. It’s a breeze!
STYLE

First things first, my Celine Edge Cat Eye Sunnies have basically been attached to my face for the last 10 years, and with summer just around the corner I already can’t wait for all the quality time in the sun we’ll get to spend together. Paired with my dream shoes, the aedye Onda Metallic Leather Flats, some super comfy silky striped track pants, and a large Woven Tote, I’m basically ready for anything.
Some other favorites in May were my Helsa Oversized Bomber Jacket as the weather was changing and the Sezane Joseph Necklace. Both are perfect options to elevate any look.
