June in Review!
ICYMI because I swear June disappeared faster than my mid-afternoon energy levels

June, you’ve been intense. Between packing up our house ahead of our upcoming move, the kids getting out of school, and my son’s recent accident, I couldn’t tell you the last time I had the time to sit down and just…breathe. There’s lots to take stock of, be grateful for, and move on from.
Since the month zapped by, here’s a little catch up for you of the recipes and articles I shared in June. Oh and pssst, keep an eye out for Friday’s paid subscriber article, which is a candid look at my perimenopause “journey” (ugh, hate that term) over the past year and the rollercoaster of changes in my body - including night sweats, mood changes, and gaining, losing and then regaining 15lbs. It hasn’t been easy to write (I’ve started and stopped several times over the past couple months), but it’s a brutally honest depiction of what I’ve been experiencing, and what I’m doing about it - what worked, what didn’t, and what I’m trying next.
Paid subscribers get the deeper cut: my professional guidance on nutrition and fitness, my most favorite recipes, plus the stuff I don't share anywhere else — the honest version of what's happening to my body in perimenopause, cosmetic treatments, parenting, and more.
This Friday, I’m dropping the unfiltered truth on all the ways perimenopause has changed my body, from weight to energy levels and a bunch in between.
If you want the full world, not just the highlight reel, upgrade to paid.

June’s recipes have you covered for whether you’re in need of a quick lunch for the kids, a dish to bring to a dinner party, a dessert you’ll want to make multiple times, or even a refreshing mocktail to unwind with as the evenings get hotter. There’s a little bit of everything here, much like real life often goes.

SNACKS/SIDES
SKIN

The number one thing I recommend if you’re over 40 and need a bit of a boost is micro-needling. I do an at home session every few weeks, but during the in between weeks, I’ve been using VT Cosmetics Reedle Shot Serum, it’s sort of tingly and your skin looks immediately glassy.
I’ve also recently added the Murad Dark Circle Corrector and the Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum to my morning routine to help give me a skin a boost of brightness (dark circle gang represent).
And because I’ll never stop talking about the simple joy of having a combination sunscreen/skin tint, the EltaMD UV Daily is my most tried-and-true daily step.
HAIR

My hair started falling out while I was pregnant with my kids, and it sort of never stopped. The Fable & Mane Hair Oil has been one of the things that actually helped make a huge difference in slowing down my hair loss.
For some added steps in my hair care routine, the Color Wow Xtra Large Bombshell Volumizer has been my new go-to when my hair needs a little oomph but I don’t want it weighed down with a bunch of sticky product.
I’ve also been using the K18 Hair Mask to get my hair next level soft. It’s a leave-in treatment, so it’s perfect for when I don’t have a ton of time to add a lot of extra steps into my hair washing routine.
STYLE

I intend to spend the rest of this summer mainly in flip flops, and definitely by a beach or a pool. The Havaianas Square flip flops have been my favorite for ages and will definitely get some miles in this season.
I also haven’t been able to shut up about the rag & bone Miramar Wide Leg Jeans because I’m not being dramatic when I say these are my most essential purchase of 2026. They’re sweatpants printed to look like real denim, which have truthfully been such a gamechanger for those days when you want comfort but still want to look like you’re wearing real pants.
Being stubbornly anti-trend, I didn’t buy the Vince Barcelona Jelly Mules when they came out last year, but I did finally cave in this year and get a pair, which may be the only shoes you’ll catch me in more than my flip flops.
